Excitement is building as we begin working on a new show entitled, “Puppet Travels” for this summer’s library theme, “One World, Many Stories”. This morning we started creating the songs, skits and silly scripts that will become the heart and soul to our new found show. A hat made of dirt, a monkey stealing a sip of tea & an oversized kernal of popcorn wearing a cape are inspired images that are destined to make it into the line up for the new show. Stay tuned for the behind-the-scenes creation of “Puppet Travles” as the puppets report live from the world’s most exotic and silly celebrations…

The mobile “theater” itself is comprised mainly of handmade, child-friendly puppets and several original design stages. A wide array of puppets and props bring a full-sensory experience to the presentations. The shows will enrich themes that the children are learning by using singing, dancing, music, puppeteering and storytelling. The interactive experience allows the children to become characters and create new worlds. These creative experiences enhance learning and help children use imagination to integrate new concepts.
